I have done this on a couple of seats for my son, you realy need to strengthen the side of the seat where your going to cut the hole before you do it though. I have also put a bulge on each side of the seat for another driver that seemed to help him. We haven't had any problems with scutineering, but that might have something to do with only having used them at our local track where the scruitineers knew that I work with fibreglass for a living and actually made the seats that we used.
