Getting back into karting after a years break and looking for some advice.

I had a Senior Max before but I have just purchased a 2004 Birel chassis with a Junior Max
I want to go for some fun testing at Clay Pigeon and would like some help.

Is it worth upgrading the engine to a senior? Had a look at the lap times on the Clay website and there is only 0.75sec differance between Junior and Senior?
I weigh 9 stone so wondering if I can get away with the Junior engine for a while.

Is a Junior engine any more reliable? any easier to choose the correct jet?

I hope to be up at Clay soon to give the kart a go.
If I can remember correctly I was running 12/79 gearing on the senior and a 165 jet size.

Any idea what I would ned to run for the Junior engine?

Any help much appreciated
Paul
