Hi tkm kart. I think you have 1 of two issues:
Most common - Brakes need bleeding. Personaly i would splash out the 325 to ge tthe job done properly. Just fill the bottle up, shuv into master cyliner, open the tap on the bottle, and then open (one at a time) the screws on each side of the pistons at your caliper - let it run out until a smooth flow of clean fluid is seen.
Other problem could be your seals have gone - are you seeing any leaking or hearing any air out of the seals from the caliper?
Bleeding the brakes is a really easy thing to do, but only with the right things to do it with - dont bother cutting corners and you will only ruin the paintwork on the kart, garage floor and waste aobut £10 worth of fluid!
