Could someone please advise what sort of pressure we should use in SL8 tyres on cold days (8 degC - Ali wheels)?

Tyres have over 100 laps on them... the tyres worked great on Saturday when the temp was 15+ degC and sunny, but would not work at all on Monday when the temp was 8 degC and overcast.
With 18PSI the tyre went shinny at the edges, with very little heat in them!

We have tyre sets on both mag and ali wheels, both worked great on Saturday.

Any help would be much appreciated!
