If someone wants to use their method of aligning sprockets, be it steel rule, hacksaw blade, or even a laser tool, then so be it. It has nothing to do with POSING in the pits, and certainly not about making other people feel INFERIOR. It is just what each individual prefers. Would I feel INFERIOR because someone has a compressor to inflate their tyres, when I only had a foot pump? NO!! Would I feel INFERIOR because someone has an cordless drill rather than a hand brace to tighten up wheel nuts? NO!! Would I feel INFERIOR when someone parks their Impreza next to my little motor? NO!! If your budget allows, then why not use the technologies that are available. If it doesn't, then there still are perfectly viable alternatives, which have been mentioned, many times, in this thread. If someone disagrees, on cost, with an alternative solution to a problem, because it does not conform to their way of thinking, then frankly WHO CARES? That is their problem, and certainly NOT mine. Use what suits you, that's all that counts.
