Looking through our records at various tracks and engines the rev range is roughly between 11500 and 12300 . You also need to look at the lower revs and probably want these in the low 6000's. Then also need to look at engine temperature which on a W60 will be somewhere around 180 to 210. In theory if you add teeth your revs should increase and vice versa but we have had engines that do the opposite i.e. drop teeth but revs go up. Did you try switching carbs to see if that was the problem rather than the engine? Also a change of exhaust can have an impact. Some guys spend hours on the dyno matching engines/carbs/exhausts to achieve best performance. Do you keep a record of each session you do? This helps as you can then look back to see what revs you pulled and see if anything has changed - weather, tyre pressures, carb. grip etc.
