Following a conversation with a friend who studies engineering he suggested there would be a performance benefit to using fuel with a high oxygen content. This got me wondering and after some looking on the internet I've found the oxygen content of pump fuel varies wildly. Some pump fuels had an oxygen content as low as 0.5% while other makes as high as 2.7%. I'm a bit clueless when it comes to things like this as its taken me long enough to get my head around how an engine works full stop but is there any performance advantage to using fuel with a high oxygen content in 2 stroke engines? Also I'm assuming jetting would change dependent on oxygen content and do things like jet tech take this into account?
