As for Speedyman's Original post - this club along with lots of others use a similar small bunch of officials. And they can only ask the official to do their job. I will obviously bring your comments to the attention of the committee for you. As I discussed with you yesterday, in 2010 I will be able to assist more directly.
Things are improving, although I agree the scruit should have done something sooner, it wasn't a new rule and has been known about for some time and also the driver in question can't use the "newbie" card. I am not saying that a novice should get away with things that experience drivers can't, but when it is a small club meeting, some things can be dealt with by means of a quiet word.
The problem is getting the judgement call right.
As has been proved by other posts, the same scruitineer has a reputation for being 110% of the rule book, to the stage where people won't come back because he want the law followed exactly, and other times, he decides a quiet word will work, when really something more is required.
