the first lap is crucial to getting the heat into the tyres for the rest of the session in my opinion.you need to work those tyres as hard as you dare early on
we went up to nearly 30psi on saturday at rye house and as we put the pressures up went a bit quicker.come sunday though it didnt have the same effect and we slowly came down to around 22psi fo the final(same weather conditions) and went three tenths faster.wether that was more to do with rubber being layed down on the track or me getting used to the track i dont know(the vageries of rye hgouse's track surface maybe??).anyway,i always find 16psi a good starting point but in this weather you are probably better off starting a bit higher
and im rarely on the ultimate pace so as always....take everything with a pinch of salt...or gritt
