Is that longitudinally or laterally?

Longitudinal ovality is because thats the direction of load (and thats up to 500G) as the piston goes through TDC and BDC.

It can be aggravated by pre-ignition banging the piston 'down' before it gets to TDC.

Lateral ovality can be due to piston squirm and slap. Squirm is when the conrod compresses under the load of going through BDC and unloads as it goes up the cylinder, twisting slightly.

Both can be aggravated by a 'not square' or worn crank, so you might want to check that too.
