You are right QoT, talent on its own has no chance of shining.
It requires a lot of time and effort invested and in Motorsport unfortunately time=tracktime=lots-of-money.

Just think of all the track fees, petrol, chassis, tyres, time off work/school, accommodation/travel, consumables etc. etc. Most of the F1 and other echelon drivers have parents with connections in kart or car race-tracks, or indeed simply wealthy parents.

Without all that "support" you can be the most naturally gifted driver in the world, you don't get bum on seat you have no chance to learn and shine!
