anything!
I would like to reduce the costs of all classes at all levels, but I'm not convinced your proposals would do that!
I'm all for better tyres but see it as a benefit for all levels not just Club level, two different tyres would be a disaster!
The parce ferme thing is just too complicated to work unilaterally! I would like to see and so would the ABkC tyres used for longer, but so far in depth discussions on solutions have drawn a blank on how to make it happen as explained in one of Graham's posts! I would support any sensible way to make this happen!
The fixed sprocket idea benefits some but also disadvantages others already in the class trying to spend less too and a fixed sprocket would either drive them out of the class or their alternative is bound to be more expensive, hence why I think it's difficult to change existing classes! I wouldn't support this for this reason on any existing class!
I don't want an abundance of classes either, but there is currently no Nationally recognised cheap way into the sport.
Where TKM is running it is cheapish, but could be made far cheaper by removing the highly priced stamped non performance parts! A recognised BT82 entry level would be even better!
Honda Cadet is an excellent class too, but not promoted in enough places!
Much of the promotion of our sport is currently trade or commercially driven and in reality it needs to be more centrally promoted with trade support for all classes in all areas! Currently the only classes that run at some tracks are what the trade support locally, we need to work on those areas fast!
We need somehow to get people to understand that going the team route can be expensive and often not productive, see NJB's post on spending with the wrong teams and getting the wrong advice!
When TKM 1st started no Works Drivers were allowed, the day I saw the big Team awning arrive at Rowrah I knew that reg was obsolete, but we need to bring something in to that effect for certain levels of the sport! The 'Team' mentality as I've called it on several occasions has driven the cost of our sport high!
This is not a dig at the Teams as they are only fulfilling what people believe they need, but if this continues there will not be enough people left to even fill the Teams at levels where Teams are needed!
