Looking to get back into karting - isTKM worth it?

Hello,

A couple of years ago I bought a TKM outfit - clutched engine etc - with a view to getting into karting properly.

For one reason and another my efforts petered out and I'm now looking to try again. The chassis I have is pretty ancient (1990s vintage I think) and I'm not even sure it is legal to race it now. Otherwise, I have all the basic kit I need to go to a race meeting with.

So, I'm not sure what class I should be looking at - whether to simply get hold of a more recent TKM chassis and just transfer my seat and engine across, or start afresh. Is TKM still popular anywhere? I'd heard rumours that it was getting popular again.

My budget is modest, so Rotax is probably too costly and I dont have a great deal of technical skill when it comes to mechanical stuff so something where modifications are restricted would be ideal.

Any thoughts?
