Don't be concerned about that. The carb is originally from a design used by Chainsaws. They need to be able to run at any angle, including upside down.
Such carbs substitute a rubber 'sack' (half sack with rubber on one side and the body of the carb on the other, for precision) for the standard float chamber of other types of carbs. The carb is also it's own 'pump' using pressure changes from the crank case to power the thing. Thus, whether the carb feeds its fuel from above or below is complete irrelevant to its performance.
You also mentioned earlier that the carb was rebuilt in the past (I think). When racing. many of us rebuilt those carbs between races (i.e. each of the 3 heats and the final that make up a day's racing). Rebuilding the Walbro carb is part of the daily life of owning a TKM!
