at last people are being honest about x30 and saying what i was learning when looking for a move up from cadets. The off the shelf competitive engine is bullsh*t, the engines are getting re-build 2 or 3 times a year, the engine is un reliable and blows, the ignition is the same and needs replacing regularly to root out a power problem carbs need constant kitting and testing and are all over the place performance wise. The grids are massive and dominated by the big teams and some very fast privateers !!! i wonder why?? so no different to rotax then. I guess Mills and the engine builders have all turned over more money though and probably why all the bull sh*t has been sold to the parents. I am out of principle not going to move from cadets to x30 and have to spend more money on engines and up keep its just crazy. I appreciate the grid is with x30 but unless your spending cadet money you aint gonna get near the front in Super 1, looks like rotax has become the dad and lad alternative. Some very good rotax engines for sale at the moment one of ours hasnt been rebuilt for over 18 months and is still good enough to win at super 1. No wonder engine builders dont like roatx our two engines would have had 2 re-builds a year in x30 multiply that by the number of drivers on an x30 grid and you got alot of business at £500/time.
