I think what's bad for tkm, is not the new TAG (plus it's actually been out for a few years), it's those making out, that you can't win without it.
At the festival, the senior elite race was won on dd, in the junior elite, I think Lee Whittingham won on a DD, even if he doesn't, I certainly know that there were dd's within a 1/10th of the winners fastest lap. If the "massive" advantage, people keep talking about, was real, that wouldn't be possible.
Yes out of the box, and properly run in, a fiched tag motor is quick and will be quicker than a £200 eBay special, dd motor but so it should be! You've got to campare like for like. Tag v's a well looked after, properly fiched (to the latest thinking), all ancillaries new or as new, cnc barrel on small bearing crank DD, as per the best teams were using prior to this season and the best lap times are probably the same.
If Abbi etc. Had only been winning because they were on a tag, as others switched, they would have disappeared back into the pack but that doesn't seem to be happening.
Iame cadet, the countries other piston port, air cooled class, doesn't seem to have TKM's level of engine parity, despite only have one "clutched" version. So tkm must be doing something right!
