You should also need a washer under the head of the bolt. But the recess (counterbore)in the hub to take the caphead of the bolt is only just larger than the dia of the head and smaller than the standard M8 washer. Also the washer is thicker than standard to spread the load from the head into the magnesium of the hub. If you don't use these you tend to get a cone shaped breakaway portion in the magnesium below the head of the bolt. Which then in turn puts side loads into the hub material, possibly causing early cracking of the hub. In short the washer is non standard and you will probably have to buy a genuine OTK washer - which will probably cost 50 times more than it should. I can just see it now in the OTK business plan meeting, sell karts, then identify consumables needed to run karts, make sure those parts are unique and / or control the supply chain, sell those parts for a huge margin. Can't blame them though - any business would do it - until they have equal competition whom supplies an equal or better product for less!!
