Imagine - you have just won kart masters and on the way catch the fairing on a tyre.....thats harsh.

Without wishing to create additional debate ... why not have a more complex timing transponder that detects G loading in both directions. e.g. shunt from back, push at the front.

You can then correlate with other drivers on track based on laptime and position etc etc....means that rolling lap bumps and after race bumps can be discounted....data is sent to race control as sensor will transmit a burst of a little more data if triggered. Blah mumble....
