Decisions, Decisions!
Ok, here's where my head's at!
Thanks to Tal-ko's kartmania/Xmas offer I've committed (righty or wrongly) to a new TAG unit. My thinking being we're right at the beginning of our TKM journey, the clutch will help with learning (won't get stranded when he spins). Plus being at the absolutely bottom of the msa weight, the tag element won't be a disadvantage. Unfortunately, that's the whole budget I'd set aside for a complete setup and strapping it to his cadet chassis, probably isn't an option :-) So, do I go for an older chassis from the popular ones discussed above. Or, do I go for something less popular, which will be cheaper for a given age/condition, does anyone have any thoughts or direct experience of any of these: DSG - Anyone driven one of these? CIK Alonso - around 2012-2014 vintage, seen a few clean examples of these at sensible money. Intrepid TKM, there's a 2015 one of these being advertised at a very attractive price (still blows my budget) Again anyone driven one? Gillard 010b - really budget end but seems to be some very clean ones around, it might be oldish but in reality it's the same vintage as the Viper design. Plus they have a good reputation as a good light/junior kart. Has anyone driven one of these as a TKM? And was that without torsion bar or are they better welded in? I'm open to other suggestions!
