Supermax has been about for years but whether it would have saved Rotax here! I don't know.
They're a bit juicier than a standard Max and the main jetting can be towards 188 rather than down in the 158 for a normal Max, that's quite an increase.
It does increase the power between 7500 and max rpm with a little loss at the bottom.
You can actually seize one if you don't increase the jetting.
I'd assume people would just bite the bullet and go X30, considering the cost of the SuperMax kit.
I wonder what the figures are for Rotax sales of engines is so far this year?
I predict Rotax will now settle into a niche market like TKM and FB, so I don't think it will die completely, just have a loyal following.
You can't help but notice how many teams have completely abandoned Rotax but you never know, if someone pushed the SuperMax it might result in a resurgence.
Can you still buy the kits though?
