if its not binding itll be fine

when you build your axle up itll be at a given temperture. away from this temp is going to introduce a preload. the coeff of friction of the grease film is a function of temp also.

assuming there isnt binding and the bearings are doing their job, any losses are very very low compared to the engine torque.

chase the gain if you like but id think seat time is more important.
