We had an Intrepid Maky for 2 years (same as cobalt), with a honda engine, it was a great kart for learning, but no good for racing......assuming your running a honda engine the reality is the rear weight distribution side to side is very bad when the engine is on the right of the chassis, as the heavy cast iron fly wheel is on the very far right of the chassis.....what you may want to do is bolt 6Kg of Lead on the left hand seat support in an attempt to off-set this........we upgraded to a 2012 Project one with the engine on the left, and to be honest the situation is only a little better, the side-to-side weight distribution is still very bad, the reality is the honda engine is VERY heavy at about 17Kg......if your struggling with rear end grip, try also putting some weight up front....as you may find that you have over 60% accross the rear axle, which is not good, you should be in the region of 55-60% on the rear......we also installed a castor kit on the Intrepid-Maky front and this also helped rear end grip as this will help lift the inside rear wheel more....hope that helps
