With 19 years using the BT82, we have found with extensive testing there is usually only 0.15 second a lap between 'top' motors. However there is up to 0.35 seconds a lap between properly set up carburetors.

The main difference is the driver, the ability to set the kart up correctly for the conditions, and then drive smart for the whole race!

If you are a regular front runner in national kart racing it is a no brainer to run with deliberately illegal engine.
