Not suprised. Your an adult. You want to do some karting for a bit of fun.
Can I suggest you have a look at the IKR events at clay pigeon and Llandow. It's probably a good way to get back into racing without all the hassle.

There's a lot more info regarding this sort of racing on karting1.co.uk

Also Chris cox on British kart drivers association Facebook page could help you out if you do like the IKR route.
Or find raceinstructor (Nigel) on karting1

I'm sorry it's so difficult after just 5 years. But there are alternatives now, and we just want as many people racing and enjoying the sport as possible :-)
Sometimes rules and regs get in the way of the sport aspect unfortunately.

Iv suggested these two placed as your profile says forest edge as your local track.
