Good news on X30 then if there are more than we anticipated and good to hear about the parity in Europe. Noted on the big teams - yes they'll only race in big grids at top level, but the investment in 'special' Rotax gear is a show stopper for them especially if they have the top end stuff. We had a very good Rotax engine with proven pedigree from a top driver, which worked well on the track inc. posting some very good times at PF etc, it was strong on the dyno too. It would hold it's own in most races at most levels. We got it for sensible money and when we retired we sold it for about the same. I know someone whom used it while they had a spell in a top team and they were reasonably strong. They were lent an engine from the top driver in the team and immediately sliced a firm 3 tenths off on a relatively short lap time too. No other changes to the kart, tyres, same driver, anything other than changing the engine. That's the 'special Rotax kit'.
