Fundamental error in using the 'ideal' measurements given by Liam. What about the sat size ? It is impossible to fit every seat to those dimensions, for example Tillett T11VG S. Vs a Tillett T11VG L ! The two seats are physically different sizes so it is not possible to use those measurements for both. The oly constant reference for your body position relative to the kart are the height above or below the bottom of the chassis rail and the distance to the spine / back of the seat to the front edge of the rear axle. In the case of the T11 the flat bottom provides a horizontal plane to attain the correct angle which makes fitting simpler. By using this method it is possible to fit any given seat consistently positioned as your starting point also very simple to replicate the position when changing chassis or seat. For example an OTK chassis using a 50mm axle and the bottom of a T11 flush with the bottom of the chassis rail and the back of the seat at 150mm from the axle at its nearest point will be about right give or take some adjustment for personal preference. If you find your correct position to be 165mm it is simple to replace the seat with a new one in the exact same position just having to make and remember one dimension 165mm in this case.
