You certainly had good pace then and you didn't seem to suffer too much as a result of the revs. There very rarely is correct revs and all engines are slightly different in the revs they will be happiest with.

I am not familiar with rotax engines but I very rarely chase revs when gearing a TKM engine and if I was on the pace pulling lower revs than most it wouldn't really bother me.

Not saying you havn't got a problem.

Have you any history of max revs with that engine on that circuit with the same gearing?
