The point that Road Rat makes, about "its only money that wins" it totally wrong...agreed if you have an unlimited budget you will move up the ladder faster,but there is nothing stopping a more talented lad doing the same....you just have to be realistic about the costs...motorsport/karting is expensive, you have to spend a certain amount to be successful, you can spend гггггггг over that certain amount , but it will make no difference to your results....if you only have the budget to do one club race a month then concentrate fully on that race, test as much as you can, try not to listen to too much pitlane B***S**T, There is nothing you can do about other drivers, the only driver you can make a difference to is your own...concentrate on him, not the others...I know lots of drivers that have had a very good karting career on a very limited budget...big financial sponsorship is not there in karting...help and support for a good driver can be...loacl kart traders, small teams wanting to be recognised with a good driver, this is where the support will begin...Ron Dennis is not going to knock on your front door..

Although I come from a karting background, and have had a lot of success with my sons racing, most of it has been done as a "father and son" enjoy karting set up...although with have been in several large teams, we have always done our own testing,and have spent "just enough" to be successful..

Rotax Max has made it difficult for the low budget driver to get any support, the class has grown into a near monopoly on where to get good equipment....but, now there are more non sealed classes, iame as well, there is now much better chance of getting the support..ie lots more tuners invloved..also smaller teams can now get a chance to be more compettitve.. and may be on the look out to support a driver with a low budget...good luck
