I would of left the seat at the recommended positioning so long as is comfortable for you, adjust the pedals to your leg length. Try the lead on the steering column mount near where it joins the front of the chassis, or underneath the front of your seat. Also what seat have you got ? I'm 6"2 also but use a tillet T11 VG and my legs are in the normal position. The T11 is for taller drivers and leans back quite abit so putting the lead up front might balance this out for you. But TEST TEST TEST afterwards !! This is just my opinion of cause.
