Hi ajc74
I ran a clutch in my racing days and I can categorically say if I didn't my best year in karting would not of happened.
I never once had any problem with my clutch.I serviced it well and made sure my chains and sprockets where in tip top condition and aligned well.
Whilst you learn not to spin quicker with a dd you can't do anything about some of the do or die dans using you as a brake going into a corner.
On the flip side my son runs dd and I wouldn't swap it for the world and nor would he.
My advice would be if you want to go with a clutch then both are good if maintained well, if you have an engine with an extended crank then you can swap to dd anytime you feel ready.
