Agreed John; a good carb is a good carb regardless of what venture it has - 8.5 or 12.5. Also a good rotax carb will work well on any engine; matching carbs to engines is not necessary. But we don't want to mess with our 8.5 by swapping venturies, as it has performed very well on the track and on the dyno. Also ventury match to carb body is important. We have found using an 8.5 over a 12.5 worked better for us more so on track in minimax, there were occasions depending on track layout where the 12.5 worked better, but they were occasions. In juniormax it was the other way round; we have found the 12.5 worked better for us on track, but have used the 8.5 to good effect - occasionally. I have your very good software and use at every test day and race day, inc. fine tuning it to each carb and engine I have. It's never far out.
