Hi
We only ran a W60 for a short period of time so I am no expert. However from my experience you cant take much notice of how many turns etc, not even for a basic setting really. We had two carbs that we dynoed and they were almost identical in output on the same engine but the jet positions were nothing like the same.

I saw a note from John Davies (Engine Builder) on here a while back and it went something like this:

With optimal settings, the tryton carb will usually just tick over when the engine is cold, but tends to stall when the temperature rises above 50 deg C. The answer is to fix a solderless nipple to the throttle cable where it passes through the chassis fitting. Set it to hold the throttle open enough to give a tickover of about 3000 rpm with a warm engine. You will now find that the engine races when cold, but settles down as it warms up.
Give me a call on 07952 505288 if you need any more clarification.
John Davies

Try and get the bottom end set as described above then run it a rich as you can on the high jet then back it off until it stops 4 stroking. Ideally put it on a Dyno, its the sure fire way to get it right, relying on watching, listening and feedback from a 7 year old to get it right will be tough!

Hopefully someone else will come along soon who maybe able to help you more!
