Kezz99 sounds like you have had a lot of bad luck 2 clutches, 2 coils? We are on the same clutch from last October and still looks brand new. Yes the pull start as been an issue but if you use it correctly you should not have an issue we changed to newer style material last year and have not had a problem since again with anything though keep on top of it and check it regularly to make sure it is working ok and won’t let you down you most need it on the dummy grid. Regards the carbs they don’t need re kitting all the time like the Tryton once you have the carb running correct leave it well alone don’t ask me why because I don’t know but these carbs DO NOT like being disturbed /opened up , don’t even clean them inside unless absolutely necessary because it has gone down. Regards the carb numbers they are 221, 238, and now 310 with latter seeming to be the best overall but as with anything you will get good and bad in any batch so it a case of pot luck unless you are prepared to buy quite a few of them, there is also time to be found in what spring you use but you will have to work that one out for yourself. If you have the new style coil this should stop your spark plugs going down we were also getting through them at a rate of 1 per weekend which was £40 a month on plugs alone now we have the new coil I am still on the same plug from six weeks ago. Don’t give up on the IAME it is a great engine like you said you want to thank your lucky stars you never had to go down the Comer route now that was a bad package.
