I would hazed a guess it will be around 55kg complete with engine so u r going to need in the region of 20-25 kg of lead and if he is a very small 7-8 year old that's about right. The most I've seen is 32kg but most importantly when carrying that amount of lead u need to distribute it evenly to keep the balance of the kart.
