As you race Rotax, I'll answer accordingly

Are you just trying to identify a 2010 barrel vs one from 2000?

If so both barrels will have '0' cast onto the date code on the intake, however the 2010 will have a stamped number on the base of the barrel just above the clutch. It looks like it's been stamped by hand with individual numbers.

If you ever want to know anything about an engine, just get it's number and call JAG. They will let you have the full build history and tell you the year of the engine and if the barrel has been replaced, the year of that too.
