I support what you guys are doing 100% I would hate for TKM to die so I'm glad people are doing something about it.

But, in my view the reason TKM is not popular any more is because you cant just turn up at your local club and race against a full grid where 10-15 drivers out of the 30 are pretty competitive.

I appreciate that a national championship over 6+ rounds exists (S1) but my point was made by somebody else - not everyone can afford to do S1!!

But, everyone (or most) seem to be able to afford to do the festival and its the only event that gets the full mix of TKM drivers (S1 guys and the Club racers). So whilst Rotax mimicks that at most clubs, most weekends around the country, TKM drivers have to wait a whole year for it!!

My point is - if you don't open it up to everyone (including the S1 drivers) there will always be a divide between the club level driver and the S1 driver and an ever increasing gap to bridge.

I've been involved with TKM for a long time and managed to do a bit of S1 over the last 5-6 years but the only way I realised I could race at that level was by racing against the S1 guys at club events and learning from them - gradually bridging the gap. You simply can't do that any more!

How is that attractive for anyone coming into the sport?

The festival is a fantastic event. Everyone enjoys it, everyone gets to race and its the only event that feels a little like the TKM days of old. So, replicate that so it happens 8-10 times a year in an affordable championship.

It gives those at S1 the chance to get more seat time and those at club level the chance to race and progress and (for some) learn as they'd be more frequently testing themselves against the best drivers.

Its got to make TKM a more attractive proposition to say you can race at that level without being forced to commit to doing S1.
