If you are using a standard 2 stroke (Comer / Iame / WTP) you are always going to struggle against the Honda 4 strokes from a standing start due to the difference in the torque that the engines produce at lower revs - this also becomes important in wet conditions.

The best advice I can give is use a 'worn in' clutch to let the engine rev higher before the clutch engages, get your driver to keep their revs up whilst waiting for the grid to form up, but not burning out the clutch. Make sure they are watching the lights like a hawk.

When the lights go green, foot down and 'bounce' in the seat a bit to help unload the rear axle a bit whilst the revs come up. Once moving properly, tell them to be aware of the Hondas coming through and defend, defend ,defend into the first corner !

Be aware that some of the engines at the front in the cadet indikart races are not standard and may well have more low end power than yours.....

I used to have mild heart failure waiting at the side of the track whilst the grid formed up - you could almost feel the plug beginning to oil up on a Comer engine :(
