We're comparatively new to karting although I've been in car racing all my life, and it appears that there is no such thing as a right answer! It always depends on weather, track temperature, time of the month, alignment of Pluto etc etc...
Many years ago I was racing a Rover and the tyre supplier categorically told me I had to run at 16psi. Last race of the season I went out in a hurry and forgot to check the tyres, they were at "workshop" pressures of 20psi - both me and my co-driver agreed the car felt awful. We were both 2 seconds a lap quicker so we learned to live with it!
Moral of this tale? But the only thing that proves the set up is the clock. Listen to thoughts and advice and try them out to find which works best for your driver. Every driver is different, what works for one may be useless for you....
