Elbow grease!
Its a non solvent degreaser comes in a yellow spray bottle, it does not react with magnesium about a £1 a bottle. Good old WD40 is also good for cleaning and will provide a water repellent coating- don't use it as a bearing lubricant.
A bit if fine steel wool will polish up the magnesium
