I think they would take more money overall if they reduced the price. Each kart racer normally has at least one person with them, some have friends and family come down to watch aswell. These friends and family spend money in the cafe, the more karters there are the more friends and family will spend money in the cafe.
Another thing to consider is that the more karters there are the more word of mouth potential there is which is free and brings more karters (a snowball effect).
As for price, the cheaper the better. If it was £20 for the day including transponder then I would expect the grids to be full within a matter of months.
100 x £20 = £2,000 30 x £57 = £1710
Add onto this the fact that a 100 karter entry will spend more money in the cafe and be more self advertising via word of mouth and I know which price level I would pick.
