Can be done but is not really a durable fix. Make sure you use the right type - otherwise you will never get the crank case apart again, the blue stuff, maybe 243? Not sure if your rules allow but I had a bearing seize once and it destroyed the crank journal so I had the journal welded up to replace the material worn away and then reground back to size.
