We had nothing but engine troubles, Rotax swapped our coil, loom, battery, ignition pick up, then finally or cylinder and piston, the refused to let us swap the full engine, unlike some others who managed to get an engine swap. All the swapping was done bit by bit, not all at once after each of the three 15 minute practice sessions, with lots of arguing with the Rotax officials. Very stressful, not what you need at a world finals, looking after a national champion. Its hard enough setting things right, but after the 15 minute run in session, you only get three more 15 minute test sessions to sort things out. I worked in the DHR awing for the last 3 super 1's and i can tall you all Dan, Simon (Sean's dad) are top people at the top of their sport, and Sean well he is a brilliant driver, you could put him in anything and he would win, he has such a feel for the kart. mike simpson snr
