On the TKM airbox's, what are the 2 black air intake trumpets for ? Formula blue amongst others just have 2 holes with a gauze over. I race indie kart and have removed both the trumpets and the intake holes are much bigger now allowing more air in, are the trumpets simply to act as an air flow restrictor ? Also on the bottom of the airbox theres a wedge shaped protusion that the trumpets point at, this obviously deflects the airflow, whats the point of this? surely a smooth air box with out trumpets must be better for performance? any ideas ??
