I've sent your brother (facebook) some base settings that I use. What's worth remembering though is that the engines don't all run the same (every rotax I've driven has performed differently!).

For the powervalve, I take the spring out when its not in use. After a couple of minutes, the bellows should expand to the 'valve open' position. I've never replaced a powervalve spring.
