When the weather has been so bad that jets skis would have been more appropriate that a kart, we have always taken the airbox off and started the engine for a couple of mins to dry it out (seems standard practice) so with this new reg does it not play straight in to the hands of those who can afford to send their engines back to the builders every time it rains?
