Being old, I really cannot see many REAL changes in karting over those years. Tyres MAY be grippier (but I suspect not) I am sure we both tried the ASTOUNDING qualifying tyres! Engines are NOT as powerful. The chassis construction is IDENTICAL. Young men and women STILL drive their B*LLS off. Yup... axles are thicker..... as are some of the drivers.....
Oh yes... one change.... we've added tupperware.... That's made a HUGE difference....!
Stand an old kart (1980s) beside a new kart and strip away the tupperware and the stickers..... and there is VASTLY less difference between the two than there is between (for examples) a 1980s and a 2010s race motorbikes, a 1980s and a 2010s F1 car. There's MORE differences between PEDAL bikes of those two eras than there are between karts!
Karting really HAS stagnated (remained consistent...) over those years!
