He should be picking the kart up with his left hand, with his right hand on the steering wheel.

Lift, throw, move left hand to back of seat and push.

Once it fires you can take your weight with the seat and steering wheel and get your right foot straight on the throttle.

Once it's got going slide your left foot around the fuel tank to the brake pedal and slide in the seat.
