More power to your elbow, I say..... BUT.....

I don't think you can claim even an expenditure of Ł15,000 is 'affordable' by the 'average' man.... It's more than many workers earn in a YEAR! I can only assume your wife is the most tolerant ON THE PLANET! Mine wouldn't have let ME spend money on the kart if the Bathroom (etc.) needed rebuilding!

Look at how things used to be.... as a student (MANY years ago.....) I was able to race once a month by working weekends, holidays, and evenings in petrol stations. I did NOT get any money from my family and my annual grant was EXACTLY Ł6.39..... for the YEAR. I was usually in the top 3 or 4 at Kimbolton in 100 National (errrrr..... when I didn't crash.....). In those days, club karting WAS affordable! There's not a student o the PLANET who doesn't get family or sponsorship money who could do what my generation was able to do! The costs have spiralled out of recognition!

Ł15,000 per year is actually VERY big money for many families.... even if it doesn't seem to be to you!

I am NOT (repeat N*O*T) condemning you: I think you have done FANTASTICALLY...... but don't say you did it 'cheaply'!
