Just seen the first few threads added:-
May I inform Simon S (NKRA committee man ??)MBKC helped start Formula Blue in the North 6 years ish ago when it was a Southerner's only "old boys" basically class, they didn't like it up em at the finals at GYG I remember, and through MBKC regularly inviting the boys down from Bonny Jotland,it all got going in the North, loads of extra money for Ron (Tabor) and the NKRA without really doing anything supportive to the Club at all it was the then Libre Motorsport who supported it.
Re:- MBKC, No other clubs have actively tried to re-invent BLUE with incentives to get people back out this year, with dropping Blue numbers also at Hooton Park and GYG.
Due to being a slightly cheaper class and so origionally up here more affordable to the average club driver, it was possibly the first class to take a hit in the current economic climate as workers go before management. With their recent 2 round mini Blue seies,,MBKC should be congratulated for their efforts and rewarded by the NKRA.
You can not re-invent the wheel 1/2 way through a season as people are committed in January, but the turnout was there,so therefore with some forward thinking and Ron TABOR speculating to accumulate, the NKRA committee should have seized upon and perhaps given a liitle more flexibility towards MBKC regarding the O plate allocation for 2012 beacuse they were committed already:- A race chassis prize for 2012/3 (£3500) worth,Engine prize (£1850),Free re- build prizes (£750),Place Money Prizes (£1800 this year !) Tyre draws,Race Gear,a TOP team drive, sponsored drivers at the Final, all gone up in smoke and let's be honest, anyone could win any of above just by entering,I Know I cleaned up !!If I had joined the club as well I would have got another trophy !!defo joining next year I had 4 drivers committed for Wigan for the O plate, and Finals, as well as the Northern rounds in 2012, however I will just enter them in the Northern challenge, forget the O plate and Finals, and possibly like a lot of the Bonny Jotland boys are, look at the NKF, at least they want to help us,so Northern Blue must be viable.
Other option don't join the NKRA just do welcoming clubbies. It's a Customer's Market out there currently for most things, people power talks, could this be the waning of the NKRA,as said entries down they seemed to have missed us,Fuel £1.36 a litre ,6 hr drive each way for us to the finals,4 hrs each way for Larkhall,,Oh and extra days off work,4 new ignitions (£2000) 8 sets of tyres (£1000),kids out of school, bed and breakfast etc etc. Don't think so NKRA RIP
