Sureley JetTec is using your previous expereince/data/testing in the calibration process?

You can refine your calibration it as you go along.

I highly doubt your (PaulM) "have a guess from previous experience" technique is ANY more accurate.

I would imagine JetTec would be invaluable in saving time, rather than extrapolating and interpolating through months/years of testing data.

Its an AID not an answer, you still have the ability to follow your own instict too. It's about HOW you choose to use it. I've seen people use it so poorly (like everyone in the team needs to run this jetting HA), that they may as well stick their finger in the air.

I don't use it myself (I will be at some point on my racing return though - watch out John!), as I've never really struggled (or seemed to) on jetting. But can still appreciate that its a very useful AID.

John you really don't need to defend yourself on this one. All I've seen lately of PaulM is slighting of other people on this forum. You used to drive at 3 sisters no? Paul Manton? Paul Munn(surely not)?
